Joy to the World

about

This most probably my favourite advent hymn. It is written by Isaac Watts and based on Psalm 98. I wrote this particular arrangement in 2010 (ish) but this is the first time it has been recorded and released into the wild.

lyrics

Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

Words by Isaac Watts.
Chord progression and feel borrowed from Jon Forman's 'Learning to Die' , some other elements came from Sufjan Steven's arrangement of the same carol.

Album art is a photo of one of my wife's home-made Christmas decorations.
